Hi, Carolyn.
I am SO sorry for the way people have been treating you regarding the thyroid disease! How cruel of people to say hurtful things to you! I am hypo, lost a lot of hair in the beginning, then it started to thicken just a few months ago. It started to fall out again about the end of March. I was told by my chiropractor to try malic acid and apple pectin tablets, which bind, in your intestines, to the toxic metals in your body and help them to be excreted. I have been taking them a few weeks, maybe a month. I just got my hair cut because it became so thin on the ends it was looking just AWFUL!! I also had it darkened so that it would show up, instead of blonde and thinning. It actually looks fuller now.
About the weight gain, I have gained about 35-40 pounds since this all began. I work out nearly EVERY DAY and have not seen any results. I was always very athletic, so I wasn't heavy to begin with. But it is very discouraging to look in the mirror each day. I really do think that I look disgusting. My husband says it's all in my mind, though. What a sweetie!
It has helped me to see all the posts here and to know I am not alone. This has become my support group. I have learned a lot from this site, and you will too. Just hang in there and START THE SUPPLEMENTS! You should see a noticable improvement in energy levels real soon! Hang in there!
Sincerely,
Katherine
