HERNIATED DISC
John, I had written on the message board about my path of improvement, failure and then success in healing a herniated disc through information learned
on your site. I think it was lost when the
board contents vanished! It seems like very important information
to be shared with all.
I am an R.N. age 50. At age 36, after my
last son
was born I was tired and did not feel well and I
first found out then that I had a low TSH. I
started
getting into nutritional support then and took
many
immune stimulating things and continued to get
worse food allergies, low energy, brain fog and
then
at age 47 I got a bladder disease which is
Interstitial
Cystitis. In August of 2000 I had 13 mercury
amalgam fillings removed. About 1/2 years ago I found this site.
I wrote John my hair mineral analysis
results and my
TSH ((0.23), which was getting lower but still
borderline.
I started the copper, etc as suggested by John.
I started getting more energy. However, I
thought
the bladder problem must be related to hormones
since it came on at age 47 and the fact that I
was getting peri-menopausal symptoms. I
tried
estrogen, even herbal and had very adverse
affects.
I then tired natural progesterone cream and had
used that about 3-4 cycles when I was lifting at
work and herniated two discs in my back.
The
pain was terribly excruciating. I got a book
from
the library called The Chemistry of Success
and I looked up Herniated Disc on this site and
noticed that copper was a key mineral in healing disc problems and I
started enzymes (Bromelain, Papain) for inflammation and Ginger Root
for pain and stopped the Progesterone
and focused on minerals--copper first in addition
to my Multi. Within 3 weeks of the above, I
was
able to stop all narcotic pain medications and
anti-inflammatory medications. The nerve
pain
was essentially gone.
However, In the last two months I still have been
trying to get all the minerals balanced. I
then had
healed my disc which is a major miracle!
However,
I then had joint pain in groin and hip. I
wrote to
John again. He made suggestions. I
then was
down to 3 mg. total of copper and only 12 mg.
of iron.
I increased the iron to 18 mg. and started on
Potassium.
The joint pain started to go away.
Then I started MSM
and I could only tolerate 1000 mg. per day because
it made me tired. Then I last added 200 mg.
of
Selenium (total of 400 mg. with Muti) and
that has
helped even more in a major way. I can now
tolerate
more MSM (adding very slowly) and now no joint
pain.
On the Net there is lots of information about MSM
helping to heal the lining of the bladder in
Interstitial
Cystitis. My goal now is to heal my bladder
my
slowly adding more MSM since I am getting more
energy all the time and can tolerate it better
with
the additions of Copper, zinc, potassium, a little
iron,
selenium and MSM to my Multi. I also take
calcium
and magnesium daily.
I also am and have been on a very healthy diet for
at least a year with low sugar, low carbohydrates,
lots of vegetable and some meat and whole grains.
I have probably left out some things a long the
way, but
have wanted for so long to let John and others
know
about my success and that I hope to write back in
a short while about my success of healing my
bladder--
the constant urge to have to urinate
and unable to empty it completely, which affects a person's life in a major
way--hard to concentrate, difficult to drive or travel and much more!!
Thanks so much, John. Bev
